IPOH: Several roads in the city of Ipoh are set to undergo resurfacing, following the approval of an RM700,000 allocation for the project.
Of the total funds, RM500,000 comes from the Malaysian Road Records Information System (MARRIS), while the remaining amount is provided by the Ministry of Housing and Local Government.
In light of this, the Ipoh City Council (MBI) has conducted a second round of contractor selection through a balloting process for the full allocation.
The ballot involved contractors registered under CIDB G1, specifically for civil works within the Kinta district. The project, valued at under RM100,000, is by the Malaysian Treasury Circular.
This round includes seven projects from MBI’s Engineering Department, totalling RM700,000, aimed at resurfacing roads in the area.
These funds are expected to boost Perak’s economic growth and ease the burden on local contractors, particularly those classified under G1.
A total of 89 contractors registered under CIDB passed the screening process and met the qualification requirements.
Ipoh Mayor, Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin, officiated the balloting ceremony for the works.
