121 Flood Victims in Perak Still Taking Shelter in Three Relief Centers

IPOH: A total of 121 flood victims from 36 families are still taking shelter in three temporary relief centres (PPS) in Perak due to the continuous heavy rain from yesterday afternoon.

According to a spokesperson from the District Disaster Management Committee on Saturday, two districts were affected; Kerian and Taiping.

This includes Kampung Matang Tengah, Kampung Matang Gelugor, Kampung Matang Pasir, Kampung Jebong Kiri, Kampung Teluk Kertang Matang, Kampung Jebong Kiri, and Kampung Tebuk.

The statement further noted that the number of flood victims increased from 106 individuals from 30 families at 10 PM to 121 individuals from 36 families by midnight.

It was also mentioned that a new relief centre was opened at SK Matang at 10 PM, while two others at SK Changkat Lobak and SK Matang Gelugor remain operational.

Meanwhile, the Malaysian Meteorological Department issued a warning for thunderstorms and heavy rain in most districts in Perak here today.
