Firefighters Rescue Three Subcontractors Stranded in a Crane

IPOH: Three subcontractors were stranded in a damaged skylift while installing shop signage at Wisma Taiko, opposite Ipoh Padang, last night.

According to Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad, Assistant Director of the Operations Division of the Perak Fire and Rescue Department, the three male victims, aged 24, 26, and 32, were stranded at an estimated height of two stories.

The incident occurred around 8:49 PM, and nine personnel from the Ipoh Fire and Rescue Station were dispatched to the scene.

“The firefighters arrived at 8:57 PM and found three workers: one local man and two men from Myanmar in the skylift.

“It was reported that they were subcontractors for the signage installation work,” he said on Saturday night.

Sabarodzi noted that the operation leader instructed the team to set up staging to safely bring the victims down.

He added that all the victims were unharmed.

The operation, led by PBK II Mohd Fakhrurazi Johari, concluded at 9:48 PM.
