In Gerik, Saarani personally observed the conditions of the flood victims, accompanied by the Chairman of the Perak Women, Family, Social Welfare Development Committee, Datuk Salbiah Mohamed.

Six temporary relief centres (PPS) have been established in the area, with only two currently operational.
