SERI ISKANDAR: A six-year-old boy survived after falling from a sixth-floor building at the Seri Iskandar apartment here last Wednesday.
According to Perak Tengah District Police Chief Supt. Hafezul Helmi Hamzah, the victim is believed to have fallen while climbing the balcony to play with friends.
“On Wednesday, around 10:50 PM, police from the Perak Tengah District Police Headquarters received information from the public regarding the incident.
“Investigations revealed that at the time of the incident, the victim was living with his 12-year-old sister and 1-year-and-9-month-old younger sister, while their mother was at work.
“The victim is believed to have fallen while climbing the balcony to play with friends,” he said here today.
Subsequently, at 11:20 PM, the victim was taken to Changkat Melintang Hospital by ambulance for initial treatment.
He further stated that the victim is in stable condition and has received further treatment in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun, Ipoh.
He noted that the case is being investigated under Section 31(1) of the Child Act 2001.
