The Big 3 Fun Run held recently at the scenic Botani Eco Park, brought together over 300 participants for a morning filled with energy, camaraderie, and colourful costumes. Organized by the Malaysian Medical Association (MMA) Perak, in collaboration with the Perak Bar and IEM Perak, the event offered something for everyone with its 8 km competitive run and a 4 km costume fun run.
The 4 km fun run saw participants in a variety of creative costumes, adding a playful touch to the event. The Best Costume Contest brought extra excitement, with the male winner in a fun tiger outfit and the female winner standing out in a simple, elegant Korean-inspired costume.
The day began with an exhilarating body combat warm-up session, courtesy of Urbax Fitness, pumping up the crowd and setting the tone for an active morning. Whether they were first-time runners or seasoned athletes, everyone hit the trail with high spirits.
YB Wong Chai Yi, the State Assemblyperson of Simpang Pulai, graced the event alongside a representative from YB Tan Kar Hing, Member of Parliament for Gopeng. The event wasn’t just about running—sponsors like Fairview International School, Lexus, and Vista Eye Centre added a lively touch with booths, free eye screenings, and stunning car displays.
Monesh Pillay, the organizing chairman, was thrilled with the turnout. “The Big 3 Fun Run has grown into more than just a fitness event. It’s about bringing families, professionals, and our community together for a fun-filled, memorable day,” he said, expressing his excitement for next year’s edition.
With the second year of the event in the books, plans are already underway for an even bigger and better Big 3 Fun Run in 2025. Whether you’re planning to run, walk, or cheer, don’t miss out—this event is fast becoming a must-do for the community!
