LENGGONG: A total of 100 food boxes were distributed to residents of Kampung Beng Dalam during the MADANI Village Adoption programme.
This initiative, organised by the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (APMM), aims to strengthen ties with the local community.
In addition to the food box assistance from the Food Bank Malaysia Foundation, 50 life jackets were also provided to the fishing community by Telekom Malaysia.
The programme included community service activities involving over 100 APMM officers and personnel who participated in a gotong-royong (communal work) event.
They beautified the surau (prayer hall), cleaned the cemetery area, repaired the donation hut in the cemetery, and organised the storage of funeral equipment.
Furthermore, a safety briefing was conducted to raise community awareness about the importance of safety and wearing life jackets during water activities.
APMM also set up a career exhibition alongside a mini display of the agency’s equipment.
The programme was officially launched by the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs and Member of Parliament for Lenggong, Datuk Seri Dr. Shamsul Anuar Nasarah.
Also present was the Director-General of APMM, Maritime Admiral Datuk Mohd Rosli Abdullah.
In his speech, he stated that the contributions from strategic partners during the programme strengthened the local community’s relationship with the government.
Through community service programmes, it fosters a spirit of togetherness and strengthens the bonds between the government and the people.
This aligns with the MADANI Malaysia aspiration that emphasises unity, well-being, and social justice in nation-building.
