MANJUNG: The operation to clean up beach litter in the Manjung Municipal Council (MPM) area is being enhanced with the introduction of a special machine.
MPM has acquired a ‘Beach Comber’ for beach cleaning, particularly in sandy areas.
This machine is equipped with a filtering system capable of sifting various types of debris such as shells, cigarette butts, bottles, glass, stones, and wood.
The machine is stationed at Teluk Batik to ensure the beach remains clean and well-maintained.
The purchase of this machine was made through funding received from the Perak State Secretary’s Office following reports of debris washing ashore in December last year.
Previously, a handover session and briefing regarding the Beach Comber machine was held, attended by the MPM President, Muhammad Faizal Shah Safian Suri.
Therefore, MPM extends its highest appreciation to the Perak State Government for the funding provided.
It is hoped that with this machine, the cleanliness of beaches in Manjung can be maintained, enhancing visitor comfort and preserving environmental sustainability.
