BATU GAJAH: The atmosphere for celebrating Deepavali is being increasingly felt as preparations for the festival begin.

The small town of Tronoh is not left behind, with colorful decorative lights installed to enhance the festive spirit.

Decorative lights have also been set up in Batu Gajah.

The installation of these decorative lights is an initiative by the Member of the Tronoh State Assembly, Steven Tiw.

According to him, the colorful lights illuminate the town and simultaneously add to the joy of the community celebrating the occasion.

“According to residents in the Batu Gajah and Tronoh areas, this is the first time decorative lights have been installed.

“This is a new historical moment, and the Indian community in Batu Gajah and Tronoh feel very happy, with some even posting messages of gratitude on social media,” he said.

Previously, similar decorations were made, such as installing lanterns for the Chinese New Year and decorative lights shaped like ketupat, moons, and stars during Aidilfitri.

In this regard, Steven stated that the installation of decorative lights for Deepavali aligns with the multicultural community living in harmony.

“As a representative of the people in Tronoh, I will strive to serve all citizens, regardless of race or religion.

“I hope the unity among all citizens is upheld and that any divisive sentiment is rejected,” he said.
