The Senior Citizens Club of Perak (Orang Berida Perak), held their 47th Senior Citizens Club of Perak Annual Dinner at Kok Thai Restaurant, in a gathering that celebrated life and camaraderie.
The Senior Citizens Club of Perak is a great avenue for those in their golden years of 65 or older, to connect with other seniors, as well as to stay vital through social gatherings and fun activities, like learning line dancing, visits to locations like Gaharu Tea Valley and games of ping pong to stay fit and healthy.
The guest of honour was Canning State Assemblyman and Deputy Speaker of the Perak State Assembly, YB Jenny Choy Tsi Jen, who presented the club with a donation of RM8000, in support of the good work that they do, in the interest of the senior community.
Also making a memorable appearance were Mr. Richard Yeoh and his spouse, who came in full costume as a Scout Trooper and Jawa from Star Wars, representing the 501st Legion of Malaysia and presenting many photo opportunities.
The 501st Legion are a worldwide group of Star Wars enthusiasts and cosplayers.
But this dinner wasn’t some sombre affair where everyone ate in silence, instead, there was a line dancing performance, followed by a fun fashion show featuring the fashions of yesteryear as volunteer models strutted their stuff for the appreciative diners. There were also song performances in which diners would leave their tables to go up and dance.
The 47th Senior Citizens Club of Perak Annual Dinner wasn’t just a celebration of an anniversary, but truly a celebration of life.
