300 to Compete in International 4×4 Extreme Sports RFC Grand Final 2024

IPOH: More than 300 local and international participants will compete in the international 4×4 extreme sports, Rainforest Challenge (RFC) Grand Final 2024, which will take place in Perak from November 29 to December 9.
Founder and director of the Rainforest Challenge and Rainforest Global Series, Luis J.A. Wee stated that the total number of participants includes crews and international media from 20 countries.
“More than ten teams from Malaysia are expected to participate this year.
“The competition will also involve over 300 participants, including international media members and staff from more than 20 countries across the Americas, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Oceania,” he said in a statement.
He said, this year, the RFC Grand Final 27 will start in Lenggong.
“It will then move to Sungai Siput and subsequently to Kuala Kangsar, covering challenging forest areas,” he said.
Earlier, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim officiated the symbolic release of participants for the RFC Grand Final 2024 at Taman Eko Rimba Kledang Saiong Eco-River on Sunday.
Thirty 4×4 vehicles were released by Anwar during the ceremony, marking the start of the adventure sports competition.
Luis added that over 26 editions, the event has successfully raised Malaysia’s profile on the global stage.
“RFC has effectively introduced Malaysia to the world, ranking third among the ten toughest motorsport competitions globally, alongside the Dakar Rally, BAJA Race, Le Mans 24hr Race, and Isle of Man Race.
“This has also achieved the goal of promoting Malaysia as a sports tourism hub, particularly as a destination for hosting international motorsport adventure championships,” he said.
The Rainforest Challenge (RFC) is an annual international 4×4 adventure sports event held in Malaysia since 1997.
Additionally, RFC events are also hosted in over 20 countries through the RFC Global Series.
