TELUK INTAN: A 44-year-old man was arrested for vandalism after he was caught spray-painting graffiti designs on the iron railway bridge near Geghotak Kampung Bahagia.
The suspect was detained last Saturday around 10 p.m. while painting along the bridge with four cans of paint in various colours.
Hilir Perak District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Ahmad Adnan Basri confirmed that the suspect admitted to the act. Initial tests also revealed that the unemployed man tested positive for cannabis.
Further checks showed that he has eight prior criminal records from 2012 to 2022.
The case is being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code, which carries a penalty of one to five years in prison, a fine, or both, upon conviction.
