Zulkafli Assumes Position of Perak Police Chief

IPOH: Deputy Commissioner (DCP) Zulkafli Sariaat has assumed the position of Acting Perak Police Chief following the retirement of his predecessor, Datuk Azizi Mat Aris.

Azizi will retire on November 10 after nearly 38 years of service in the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).

The handover ceremony was conducted between Zulkafli and Azizi, witnessed by the Director of the PDRM Criminal Investigation Department, representing the Inspector-General of Police, Datuk Sri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain.

Zulkafli, who was previously the Deputy Perak Police Chief, took on his new role in July. Before his transfer to Perak, he served at Bukit Aman, Kuala Lumpur, as the Senior Assistant Commissioner of Organizational Management Modernization for the National Police Chief’s Secretariat (Research and Development).

Earlier, a Special Assembly was held in conjunction with Datuk Azizi Mat Aris retirement at the Perak Police Contingent Headquarters.

The ceremony began with a Guard of Honor inspection led by Perak Police Chief, consisting of 53 female police officers from the Perak Contingent, headed by ASP Nor Hamizah Ahmad.

In his speech, Azizi expressed his deep gratitude for the cooperation and support he received from all members of the PDRM Perak during his tenure as Perak Police Chief.
