Woman attempts to jump into river, rescued by public

TELUK INTAN: A woman, believed to be around 38 years old, was successfully rescued by the public from attempting to jump into a river at Taman Rekreasi Pekan Teluk Intan here this morning .

According to Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad, Assistant Director of the Operations Division of the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Perak, the incident was noticed by passersby before the arrival of the fire and rescue team.

He said the department received a call about the incident at 9:04 a.m., after which personnel from the Teluk Intan Fire and Rescue Station rushed to the scene.

“The operation chief then reassured the victim and provided counseling before handing her over to the police,” he said here today.
