On 8 November, ACS Ipoh organised a special assembly to honour and bid farewell to Mr. Ravichandran a/l Kuppusamy, who was retiring after 34 years and 8 months of service as a teacher, with the last 14 years of those spent at ACS Ipoh.
Born in 1964, he began his primary education at La Salle Ipoh, continued to his secondary at SMK Sungai Pari and completed Form 6 at ACS Ipoh itself. After which, he would go on to earn his bachelor’s degree in law from the University of Malaya in 1997.
It’s therefore fitting that he would begin teaching career at St. Michael Penampang and retire at ACS Ipoh, just as he finished Form 6 there.
During his parting speech, he expressed his heartfelt gratitude and happiness in returning to ACS Ipoh and reconnecting with all the ACS students. He shared the touching and unexpected surprise of the ACS teachers, including the principal, visiting his home to organise his farewell party. Reflecting on his teaching roles, he mentioned his time as a Physical Education teacher and his years teaching History and Geography at ACS Ipoh, as well as the time he had served as a teacher advisor for the school’s co-curricular activities and was involved with the Service Board.
Mr. Ravichandran expressed his gratitude for his teachers and encouraged the students to take care of themselves and avoid violence.
We at Ipoh Echo salute him, who dedicated his life to enriching the lives and building the futures of others.
