TAIPING: A total of 45 individuals, including officers, trainers, and participants from the Specialized Warfare Training Centre in Sungai Udang Camp, Melaka, will conduct training for dignitary escort and covert maneuvers around Taiping.
The training will take place from Friday, November 15, until December 2.
According to Taiping District Police Chief, ACP Mohamad Nasir Ismail, during the training, there will be simulated gunfire using blank ammunition at designated locations.
“Accommodation during the training will be at the Taiping Prison Training Centre.
“Escort members will carry firearms (Glock pistols) and long weapons (M4 carbines) with eight rounds of blank ammunition each.
“The training will only use blank ammunition and will not pose a threat to public safety. Additionally, the selected locations are not crowded with the public,” he said.
Mohamad Nasir added that certain roads would be temporarily closed during the training.
In this regard, the public is advised to cooperate and follow police instructions to facilitate the training and traffic flow.
The public is also urged not to worry or be alarmed by the incidents and situations during the training.
