IPOH: BH Petrol Ladang Bikam North station along PLUS Highway in Sungkai has been crowned the winner of Cleanest Toilet category for petrol stations.
The winner received RM20,000 in cash, a trophy, and a certificate.
The announcement was made by the Minister of Housing and Local Government, Nga Kor Ming, during the Toilet of The Year (TOTYA) 2024 Award Ceremony in Kuala Lumpur.
TOTYA is his initiative to recognize the efforts made by government agencies and the private sector in providing public toilets that meet the Clean, Captivating, and Fragrant (BMW) standard.
The inaugural TOTYA event was held in 2023.
TOTYA 2024 received 625 entries, compared to 345 entries last year, showing an increase of 82 percent.
Meanwhile, seven categories were contested, namely hotels, shopping malls, rest and service areas, petrol stations, local authorities, and schools.
