IPOH: An unstable metal drain cover, which could detach at any time, poses a danger to the public passing through the area.
The drain cover is located at the entrance of Persiaran Cempaka Sari 24, Taman Cempaka.
It is understood that the cover has been repaired several times by the Ipoh City Council (MBI), but it becomes loose and wobbly again after a few months.
According to a local resident representative, they have filed complaints with the local councilor, but allegedly no immediate action has been taken.
“I hope Ipoh Echo and Peraktastic can help share this issue with the relevant authorities.
“The condition of the drain cover is very dangerous because it is frequently used by vehicles and pedestrians.
“The MBI has come several times to repair it, but within a few months, it becomes wobbly again,” he said.
He also suggested that the cause of the issue could be the easily cracked cement and the poor quality of work done by the contractor.
