KUALA LUMPUR: The monsoon surge, bringing continuous heavy rainfall, is currently occurring in the east and south of Peninsular Malaysia and is expected to last until the end of November 2024.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MET Malaysia) in a statement said that analysis of the latest weather forecast indicates the monsoon surge will strengthen from November 27 to December 1, 2024.
According to the statement, this situation could potentially lead to very heavy and continuous rain in the eastern part of Peninsular Malaysia during this period.
“MET Malaysia is continuously monitoring the weather conditions and will update the Continuous Rainfall Warning if the weather situation is expected to worsen.
“Members of the public are advised to be prepared and stay alert to the weather information, advice, forecasts, and warnings issued by MET Malaysia,” the statement said.
