IPOH: After upgrading Medan Selera Jalan Jelapang Baru, the next step is to carry out similar works for Phase 2 of Medan Selera Pokok Ceri, starting this December.
The location is named after the cherry trees planted there.
This upgrading work is part of the Madani government’s focus on improving the income of small traders.
Councilor of the Ipoh City Council, Ahmad Khair Faizal, said the aim is to provide a fresh new image while increasing customer attendance.
“This good news has been shared with the existing tenants.
“I feel grateful that the tenants welcomed this initiative, and their joy was evident on their faces during the meeting.
“They expressed their thanks, especially to the Ipoh Mayor, Datuk Rumaizi Baharin, for his commitment and dedication,” he said.
On May 16, Rumaizi officially opened Phase 1 of the Pokok Ceri Stalls, with a contract cost of RM482,200.
The upgrades included work on the roof, the interior of the stalls, electrical wiring, painting the buildings, and the installation of chairs and dining tables.
Also replaced were the stall doors, floor tiles, and other related works that met the Madani Stall Project scope.
