KERIAN: The role of parents is crucial as they are responsible for educating and monitoring the activities of their children.
This was the advice of the Acting Chief of Police of Perak, Deputy Commissioner Zulkafli Sariat, who stated that this responsibility should not be placed solely on teachers at school.
“No matter how busy parents are with work, they need to be aware of their children’s movements and social interactions.
“This is to ensure that children do not get involved in negative behaviors, especially those that break the law,” he said.
He offered this advice during the launch of the Perak State 2024 Ambassador of Character Movement Kit at Sekolah Kebangsaan Sri Siakap here.
Also present was the Deputy Director of Education for Perak, Zulkafli Mohamed Mokhtar.
According to Zulkafli, the police always collaborate with schools through the School Liaison Officers (PPS).
He said that the PPS acts as a bridge between the school and the police in providing information related to student misconduct.
“PPS facilitates communication between the school and students, allowing complaints or information to be conveyed more quickly,” he said.
