IPOH: Heavy rain that has been falling in the district since last night has caused several areas to be flooded, along with incidents of fallen tree branches.
The Ipoh Fire and Rescue Station was no exception, receiving numerous emergency calls regarding floods in several hotspots around Ipoh.
The fire department stated that emergency calls were still being received as of 3 PM.
“Rescue operations for flood victims are ongoing around Kampung Tasek Seberang, Anjung Bercham Utama, Persiaran Taman Tasek, Kepayang Putra, Kampung Kepayang, Fair Park, and several other locations.
“The fire station chief is also participating in the rescue efforts for affected residents,” the statement said.
The fire department also reminded the public to be cautious and urged parents to be vigilant and supervise their children to prevent any unwanted incidents.
Water levels have also risen in rivers near Gugusan Manjoi.
Meanwhile, social media users shared several images of flash floods that hit Jalan Kamarudin Isa and residential areas around Fair Park.
It is understood that the flash floods occurred around 1:55 PM, despite the rain having stopped.
The rise in water levels is believed to be due to blocked drainage systems.
