IPOH: The number of flood victims in Perak has risen, with 340 victims from 111 families being placed in eight temporary evacuation centers (PPS) as of midnight last night.
According to a spokesperson for the District Disaster Management Committee, on Monday four districts have been affected by the floods. These include0 Kinta, Larut Matang and Selama (LMS), Hilir Perak, and Kampar.
The spokesperson said that in Kinta, 189 victims from 63 families were affected; in LMS, 47 victims from 12 families; in Hilir Perak, 48 victims from 16 families; and in Kampar, 56 victims from 20 families.
The affected PPS include SK Matang Gelugor, Dewan Serbaguna Padang Tembak, SK Kota Baharu, Dewan Orang Ramai Kampung Sri Kinta, Dewan Bandaran Kinta, Dewan Komuniti Taman Berjaya Tanjung Rambutan, Dewan Dato’ Azumu Kampung Kepayang Fair Park, and Dewan Orang Ramai Kampung Tasek.
Meanwhile, the Malaysian Meteorological Department issued a continuous rain warning on Monday, predicting heavy rain in the Hulu Perak district.
Additionally, all districts in Perak are expected to experience rain in the afternoon and night.
