IPOH: The deployment of local authority enforcement teams (PBT) in Perak has been enhanced with the introduction of body cameras.
This is a proactive step to improve field operations.
The initiative aims to strengthen PBT enforcement through technology to increase accountability and transparency.
It indirectly boosts public trust and provides solid evidence for investigations.
Additionally, it helps reduce complaints of misconduct and protects enforcement officers while on duty.
Earlier, the handover session of the body cameras was officiated by the Perak State Executive Councillor for Housing and Local Government, Sandrea Ng, at the Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan here.
According to her, a total of 12 units of cameras have been distributed with an allocation of RM34,788, and Phase 2 will continue in 2025, involving another eight PBTs.
“I am honored to officiate the handover of body cameras to seven selected PBTs under Phase 1 of the Perak State PBT Body Camera Usage Program.
“The state government is committed to ensuring that every enforcement action is carried out firmly, transparently, and comprehensively for the well-being of the people of Perak,” she said.
