IPOH: The floodwaters have receded, but damaged belongings, furniture, and surrounding areas still need to be cleaned.
One of the challenges after a flood disaster is the cleanup work that must be carried out.
Homeowners facing these difficulties are often unable to manage the cleanup on their own without help from caring parties.
Taking on this responsibility, the Ipoh District Police Headquarters (IPD) organized a gotong-royong (community cleanup) to clear flood-affected areas with the assistance of volunteer teams.
Supporting the IPD Ipoh were the 1st Battalion of the General Operations Force (PGA) Ulu Kinta, the Federal Reserve Unit 5 Ipoh, and the Ipoh Fire and Rescue Department.
More than 110 people, including local residents, were involved in the cleanup effort.
This initiative served a dual purpose for the IPD Ipoh and local residents by strengthening community ties, in line with the slogan “Police and Community, Never Apart.”
At the same time, it helped residents who were impacted by the floods to clean up the affected areas.
IPD Ipoh also expressed gratitude to all those involved in the successful execution of the cleanup activity.
