President of the Perak Triathlon Association (PTA), Dr. Alex Khoo, said the event aimed to encourage community participation in both challenging and fun sports activities.
“This event is not just for experienced athletes, but also for those who are looking to try something new. The family-friendly categories make this program inclusive for everyone,” he said in a statement yesterday.
Held at Tenby Schools, Ipoh, the event kicked off at 7 a.m. with the aquathlon competition, which followed a run-swim-run format. The fun run started at 11 a.m., drawing enthusiastic participation from people of all ages.
In addition to the competition, visitors were treated to various exciting activities, including free health screenings by PCSH and Garden Physio, a Mini Petting Zoo, and animal care sessions by Sunway Lost World of Tambun.
Other collaborative partners such as MITO, Masmos Niaga, Lang Valley, and Chek Hup added to the festivities with balloon sculptures, food stalls, and a variety of fun games.
Also present was PCSH Board of Directors member, Dato’ Lim Si Boon, who officiated the prize presentation ceremony for the winners.
One of the participants, 14-year-old Arina Safar, expressed her excitement about joining the event.
“I had a great time participating in this event with my friends. It gave us a new experience and challenged our stamina,” she said.
As a not-for-profit hospital, PCSH takes pride in organizing the event, in line with its mission to provide quality healthcare services to the community at affordable rates.
PCSH hopes that events like this will continue to strengthen community ties through sports as a healthy lifestyle choice.
