IPOH: More state-owned companies and private enterprises, especially in Perak, are stepping forward to support Perak FC in its efforts to restore the glory of Perak football.
This support is vital in helping to develop football in the state.
Perak FC’s General Manager, Neow Choo Seong, expressed his appreciation for the support and trust given by the club’s supporters.
“Although Perak FC is now a private club, the reputation and dignity of Perak football must still be upheld. This is to ensure that the team we love remains a source of pride for the people of Perak,” he said.
Neow also shared his experience meeting with Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, at an event.
According to Neow, Zahid had once served as the President of the Perak Football Association.
The Deputy Prime Minister also led the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) and Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) football teams as Patron when he was the Minister of Defence and Home Affairs.
“He shared his experience of holding the highest position in the state football body under the direction of Sultan Nazrin Shah, aiming to revive the Perak team before he stepped down and was succeeded by Dato’ Seri Ir. Mohammad Nizar in 2008.
“He shared a lot with me, and he acknowledged that managing a big football team with its own history, like Perak FC, is not an easy task.
“However, he continues to pray for the team’s success and will always support Perak football,” he added.
