By Julian Matthews

Ten years after this photo was taken
and almost five years after her passing,
only now, I notice, the sunflower,
and the falling leaves,
prophetically, on her chest.
Beside me, this small-framed woman
who birthed me, fed me, brought me up, made me.
The large sign behind issuing the edict: Share tea.
And cradling the lens, the woman who snapped it,
the mother of my children.
Both the loves of my life.
Creampuffs between us.
Sweetness all around.
