IPOH: For enthusiasts of aerial sports and activities, don’t miss the opportunity to visit Taiping this week for the Taiping Air Festival 2024.
The event will take place at Tekah Airport in Taiping, a site of historical significance as one of the country’s oldest airstrips.
Running for three days starting December 19, the festival is open from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., and admission is free.
Visitors can look forward to a host of exciting activities suitable for all ages. Highlights include the Aircraft Fly-In, static aeroplane exhibitions, microlight joyrides, paramotor displays, and RC & drone showcases.
Adding to the thrill is a spectacular skydiving performance that promises to captivate audiences.
Complementing the festival is a vibrant Food Festival, featuring a variety of culinary delights, including popular viral dishes.
Other attractions include zumba sessions, aerobics, traditional games (jaguh rakyat), children’s games, and tug-of-war competitions.
Additional side events range from colouring contests and aircraft mock-up innovations to paper aeroplane challenges, exhibitions by government and private agencies, and a special Taiping Berselawat evening (Islamic blessings and praises for the Prophet Muhammad).
