GOPENG: Cleaning efforts, including proactive measures, have been carried out at Taman Gopeng Bistari following the mud flood in the area.
According to Teja State Assemblywoman, Sandrea Ng Shy Ching, she, along with Gopeng Member of Parliament, Tan Kar Hing, visited the site to assess the current situation.
They were also joined by Kampar District Council (MDKpr) Councillor Shanmugam and MDKpr engineer Rozzilla.
“Flash floods have often occurred in this low-lying area before.
“MDKpr has taken proactive steps by building retention ponds to reduce the flood risk.
“Several follow-up actions have been discussed, including road cleaning work to be carried out by contractors,” she said.
She added that this action was taken to ease the residents woes, especially those planning to host events this weekend.
She also advised the local residents to be cautious when passing through the area for their safety.
