SIMPANG PULAI: The A FORCE 4X4 (AF4X4) Charity Jamboree 2024, organized by a group of off-road vehicle enthusiasts, raised an impressive RM33,450 to bring smiles and much-needed support to underprivileged children.
The funds were donated to two Perak orphanages, including New Hope Children’s Home in Pasir Pinji and Pertubuhan Pengurusan Pusat Jagaan 1Malaysia in Taman Ipoh.
Beyond financial aid, the event also provided unforgettable experiences for the children, including a special outing to the Lubuk Timah Hot Spring Recreational Center, Simpang Pulai.
AF4X4 leader Edward Lim shared that the outing aimed to foster meaningful connections between the campers and the children.
“We want the children to feel not only supported but also celebrated during this Christmas season,” he said.
The day began with hearty meals prepared by the campers, followed by a guided tour of the natural hot springs, therapeutic pools, and a man-made waterfall resembling Niagara Falls.
Open spaces and shaded gazebos became playgrounds where the children could run freely, engage in games, and bond with one another.
Each child also received a personalized goodie bag filled with snacks, stationery, and keepsakes, further emphasizing the event’s message of love and care.
With 2,500 members on their Facebook page, AF4X4 has been organizing outdoor adventures for over 30 years, and they remain dedicated to creating positive change in their community through charity events like the Jamboree.
Lim emphasized the group’s efforts to encourage participation and keep their events engaging for people of all ages.
“We offer incentives such as lucky draws, prizes, and recognition for those who participate and raise funds,” he said.
Looking ahead, the group plans to offer educational workshops for underprivileged children, create collaborative projects for participants, and adopt more eco-friendly practices to encourage sustainable habits in nature.
