LUMUT: Pangkor Pink Van Taxi Association’s convoy for the 2024 Flood Relief Mission departed for Kampung Derang, Alor Setar, Kedah, carrying 200 packages of food and clothing.

The donations were contributed by hotel operators around Pangkor Island and association members from various ethnic backgrounds.

The convoy consisted of three Pangkor pink vans, two cars, two motorcycles, an ambulance, and a 3-tonne truck carrying the relief supplies.

The convoy’s departure was officiated by Pangkor State Assemblywoman, Norhaslinda Zakaria.

She stated that the mission was solely to deliver the donations to the affected area before returning to Pangkor.

“The convoy participants were enthusiastic to deliver the trust of the Pangkor constituency’s residents as a gesture of concern for the flood victims in Kedah.

“I would also like to thank everyone involved in making this mission a success,” she said.

Meanwhile, the Manjung Municipal Council (MPM) collected items to help flood victims in Kelantan.

The MPM Merdeka Hall has been designated as a collection center for donations such as clothing, food, electrical goods, and baby necessities from the public.
