In a meaningful effort to connect growth with sustainability, Agensi Kaunseling dan Pengurusan Kredit (AKPK) Ipoh Branch recently held a tree-planting event in Gopeng to celebrate AKPK’s newest publication, the GROW series along with AKPK’s commemorative book in conjunction of its 18th anniversary, the Humble Giant. This initiative was part of AKPK’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, aimed at making our environment a greener place while promoting financial literacy and Resilience.
The symbolic act of planting trees reflects AKPK’s mission to nurture growth, whether in nature or in individuals’ financial journey. Just as trees provide long-term benefits to the environment, AKPK empowers Malaysians to build prudent financial habits, manage debts effectively, and secure a brighter future. The Humble Giant and the GROW series are essential resources that echo this mission by offering valuable insights into achieving financial stability and success.
The Humble Giant chronicles the financial struggles of common characters that had sought help from AKPK, synthesised from interviews with AKPK’s customers and financial advisors. The GROW series that were published not long after the Humble Giant, follow the life stories of four friends who met in university, then entering the workforce, starting their own families and finally retiring. Financial challenges and strategies in each of these life stages were shared in an appealing and comprehensible manner.
The event also brought together staff of AKPK Ipoh branch with the Gopeng Glamping staff in a shared commitment to create a better world — financially and environmentally. As these plants grow and enrich the ecosystem, they serve as a reminder of AKPK’s unwavering dedication to supporting individuals and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in their journey towards financial resilience as AKPK continues to grow after 18 years of service to the public.
