IPOH: Disgusting and unbearably foul-smelling.
That’s how one might describe an abandoned shop lot filled with piles of garbage at Medan Station 18/3, Station 18, Pengkalan, here.
According to a concerned resident, he was shocked to encounter the unsightly mess, especially since the building is located right across from AEON Station 18.
He added that the area is not an abandoned block, as shops on both sides of the lot are still in operation.
However, he expressed disbelief over the lack of action by the relevant authorities to address the issue, particularly against those irresponsibly dumping rubbish there.
“I happened to park my car nearby and was taken aback to see the shop lot overflowing with garbage.
“The trash here includes food packaging and even liquor bottles.
“The smell is awful, and it’s incredibly embarrassing for the people of Ipoh if outsiders were to see such a situation.
“I hope the authorities will act promptly to clean up this area and investigate those responsible for dumping garbage in such a manner,” he told Ipoh Echo/Peraktastic.
