IPOH: The initiative to explore heritage and tourism areas in Perak continues with the Perak Heritage Association.

This time, the program “Jalan-Jalan Warisan Perak Series 3” chose Lenggong Geopark as the destination to be visited.

The program was attended by 18 members and history heritage enthusiasts, led by its President, Mohd Tajuddin Mohd Tahir.

The event received cooperation from Lenggong Geopark and the Lenggong District Council (MDL).

According to the Secretary of the Perak Heritage Association, Nor Hisham Zulkifle, the aim of the program is to raise awareness about the heritage of Perak.

He said that the program took participants on a journey to explore the unique heritage of Lenggong, which includes archaeological and natural heritage.

“Program participants were briefed about Lenggong Geopark and taken to visit interesting sites.

“Among these were the Lenggong Geopark Gallery, Lenggong Archaeology Gallery, Blue Well, Raja Mosque, Aki Aji Gallery, Ayah An Deer Farm, and Debu Toba Bukit Sapi,” he explained.

Nor Hisham emphasized that the people of Perak should be proud because Lenggong Geopark has been recognized as a Global Geopark site by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

“This recognition also helps increase the number of tourists to Lenggong Geopark, contributing to the local economy,” he said.

Perak also has another similar site, the Kinta Valley Geopark.

However, unlike Lenggong, much more needs to be done by the involved parties to elevate Kinta Valley to the same level as Lenggong.
