IPOH – The Centralized Library System for Polytechnics and Community Colleges, along with the iPOLYCC Data Dashboard, is set to benefit over 100,000 users, advancing the digitalization of the Polytechnic and Community College (POLYCC) ecosystem.
This initiative aligns with efforts to enhance digital transformation in the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector, in line with the Public Sector Digitalization Strategic Plan (PSPSA) 2021–2025 and the Malaysia Education Blueprint 2015–2025 (Higher Education).
Developed using the open-source KOHA system, the Centralized Library System aims to create an inclusive and sustainable digital library.
Users can now enjoy more efficient searches for reading materials, access local content repositories, and foster a culture of digitalization among Polytechnic and Community College communities.
Comprehensive and Real-Time Data
The iPOLYCC Data Dashboard offers real-time data management, providing up-to-date information such as student numbers, staff statistics, and institutional management data.
It also integrates data from the Higher Education Ministry’s MYMOHES system, updated four times a year.
The launch was officiated by the Deputy Director-General (Planning) of the Polytechnic and Community College Education Department (JPPKK), Muhamad Rumzi Mamat, at the Tan Sri Othman Merican Library, Politeknik Ungku Omar, yesterday.
The success of these systems reflects the collaborative efforts of various parties, including the JPPKK ICT Task Force, librarians, library staff, and POLYCC information managers.
Elevating TVET Education Excellence
This initiative is expected to enhance service delivery quality while fostering lifelong learning.
At the same time, it strengthens POLYCC’s digital agenda and its preparedness to face future challenges, driving excellence in the nation’s technical and vocational education.
The launch of these systems marks another significant step in ensuring the POLYCC ecosystem remains relevant and competitive in the digital era.
