IPOH: A 54-year-old man died after complaining of shortness of breath and fainting while hiking on Bukit Kledang Road, Menglembu, here today.
Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad, Assistant Director of the Operations Division of the Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), said the victim, identified as Low Chaw Ming, was hiking with another friend.
He added that members from the Pasir Puteh Fire and Rescue Station, Pekan Baru and Menglembu Volunteer Fire Brigade, responded to the emergency call at 3:06 p.m.
“The victim complained of shortness of breath and fainted during the hike.
“Before the arrival of the fire department, the Pekan Baru and Menglembu Volunteer Fire Brigade had arrived and performed Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) on the victim.
“Health Ministry (KKM) personnel arrived, conducted an examination, and confirmed the victim’s death at the scene,” he said here today.
Sabarodzi added that the fire department then assisted the KKM in lowering the victim and the body was handed over to the police for further action.
