IPOH: A 21-year-old male worker from Myanmar was injured after his right hand was caught in a rock sugar crushing machine at a factory near Meru Raya today.
The victim has been identified as Myo Theo Wai.
According to Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad, Assistant Director of Operations from the Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), the incident occurred around 8:08 a.m.
Members from the Meru Raya Fire and Rescue Station were dispatched to the scene and arrived at 8:35 a.m.
“The operation leader conducted a size-up and then applied the SAVER concept, instructing team members to carry out the rescue using hydraulic equipment.
“The victim was then transported using the Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) to the hospital for further treatment,” he said.
