IPOH: Cultivating a spirit of unity among students by embracing cultural diversity.
This is because every individual is responsible for fostering tolerance for the harmony of all.
This was demonstrated by the teachers and students of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Wirajaya as they showcased solidarity through cultural performances.
Recently, the Quan Ji Ipoh Lion Dance team conducted a workshop and cultural understanding session at the school.
What SMK Wirajaya has done is seen as a creative approach in organizing various programs to nurture the spirit of unity among students.
Among the activities were dance performances, a lion dance display, and Chinese calligraphy writing.
The event attracted participation from students of various ethnic backgrounds, especially as it was held in anticipation of the Chinese New Year celebrations.
The initiative also caught the attention of Gopeng Member of Parliament, Tan Kar Hing, who attended the event as a guest.
“I personally will continue to support multicultural cultural programs to build a more inclusive society.
“May arts and cultural events strengthen relationships among young people, as they are the best hope for unity and the nation’s future development,” he said.
