PANGKOR: A once-in-a-year marvel at Teluk Nipah Beach, Pangkor Island, is set to draw crowds to this popular holiday destination soon.
The phenomenon is the ‘sea splitting’, allowing visitors to walk to Giam Island, 400 meters away.
This extraordinary event typically occurs during the Chinese New Year holiday season or around February.
This year, it is expected to take place from January 31 to February 2 and from February 28 to March 2.
In reality, the sea doesn’t actually split; instead, a low tide exposes a vast stretch of beach that can be walked on.
This results in a sandbar emerging over 400 meters long, attracting tens of thousands of visitors every year.
The coinciding visit of school holidaymakers is expected to further boost the local tourism industry.
So, don’t miss the opportunity to experience this unique natural phenomenon, which can only be found on Pangkor Island.
