BATU GAJAH: A Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) quarters was destroyed in a fire late Friday evening.
Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) assistant director of operations Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said the blaze also engulfed a Proton Saga and a motorcycle.
“The incident occurred around 5.55 pm, prompting the Batu Gajah Fire and Rescue Station (BBP), along with personnel from Pasir Puteh, the Pusing Volunteer Fire Brigade (PBS), and Pekan Baru, to rush to the scene.
“A total of 20 firefighters were involved in extinguishing the flames.
“The quarters was 75% destroyed, but no casualties were reported,” he said last night.
He added that the operations commander conducted a size-up before implementing the RECEO concept, directing firefighters to carry out extinguishing efforts until the fire was completely put out.
