IPOH: Deputy Superintendent (DSP) Azhar Johar has been appointed as the Head of the Public Order Division at the Ipoh District Police Headquarters.
The handover ceremony was conducted between him and the previous acting head, Inspector (Insp) Mohd Syukri Abdul Talib.
The event was witnessed by the Deputy District Police Chief (Operations) of Ipoh, Superintendent Mohamad Sajidan Abdul Sukor.
Azhar, who previously served in the 69 Commandos team in Ulu Kinta, has recently completed his studies at the Maktab Turus Angkatan Tentera (MTAT) National Defence Studies Centre.
At the same event, the handover of the Chief of Police position at the Sungai Senam Police Station also took place.
Insp Burhanuddin Helmi Ramli took over the position from Sergeant Major Balasundram Munusamy.
In his speech, Mohamad Sajidan, along with the entire IPD Ipoh staff, extended a warm welcome and congratulations to DSP Azhar and Insp Burhanuddin Helmi on their new roles and responsibilities.
