IPOH: Ipoh Echo continues to receive recognition, earning a Special Award from the management of Politeknik Ungku Omar (PUO) for its outstanding media coverage.

The award acknowledges Ipoh Echo as the second-highest media outlet in coverage for PUO throughout 2024.

PUO Director Dr Shamsuri Abdullah presented the award to Ipoh Echo Editor Rosli Mansor Ahmad Razali during the Perak Media Practitioners Appreciation Ceremony 2025, held at PUO’s Bercham campus.

In 2023, Ipoh Echo was the top media agency providing the most coverage for PUO.

In his speech, Dr Shamsuri expressed gratitude to all media organisations in Perak for their continuous support through news reporting.

He noted that media involvement has indirectly contributed to advancing Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) at polytechnics.

“TVET education is a structured learning and training process geared towards employment while also fostering entrepreneurial potential.

“The country is currently encouraging youth to pursue TVET as a platform to reduce poverty and bridge the education gap.

“TVET graduates can also venture into entrepreneurship, applying the knowledge and skills they have acquired,” he said.
