On February 17, ACS Ipoh welcomed its new principal, Dr. Magaswari A/P Ubbudari alongside the “Jom ke Sekolah” Programme, themed “A Friendly, Cheerful, and Fun School.”
The event took place at the school assembly area from 7:30 am to 8:00 am with the objective of promoting awareness on the importance of school attendance and fostering a positive and engaging learning environment.
The ceremony was attended by District Education Office (PPD) representative, Mr. Hazamin, as well as the guest of honour, the Board Of Governors (BOG) Chairman, Mr. Daniel Devadass.
President of Alumni ACS, Dato Dr. Sushil Kumar Ratti and Chairman of Parent Teacher Association (PTA) Mr. Ananthan A/L Vellu, were also present, as well as School Liaison Officer, Inspector Gopirajan, Assistant School Liaison Officer, Corporal Haminuddin and Tamil Methodist Church Pastor, Rev. Joel Zechariah.
The ceremony commenced with the singing of the national anthem, state anthem, and the recitation of the Rukun Negara pledge. This was followed by an address from Mr. Daniel Devadass, who formally introduced the newly appointed school principal, Dr. Magaswari A/P Ubbudari.
Dr. Magaswari is a Perakian whose hometown is Pengkalan, Ipoh. She got her early schooling education in Ipoh and upon completing her secondary studies, pursued her first degree in Universiti Utara Malaysia followed by her Master’s Degree specializing in Educational Management. She then completed her PhD in the area of Education under University Malaya.
Dr. Magaswari started her teaching career with her first school appointment at SMK Sultan Muhammad Shah Parit in the year 1994 and thereafter she has worked in many other schools in Perak. Prior to the appointment as the Principal of SMK Methodist ACS, she has been the Principal in SMK St. Anthony in Teluk Intan and in SMK Pusing.
After the formal address by Mr. Daniel, the event concluded with the singing of the ACS School Song, after which, the students were dismissed.
