MANJUNG: Trash does not appear on its own, it is the result of irresponsible human actions.
This was evident in a drain next to the Wisma DAP Pantai Remis Branch Office in Taman Nelayan, which was filled with waste, including plastic bottles, obstructing the water flow.
The clogged drain was identified during routine patrols by Puncak Emas Infra Sdn Bhd (PEISB) Manjung branch.
A report was submitted to its business partner (RN) to carry out cleaning works and remove debris blocking the drainage system. PEISB also ensured that the cleaning process adhered to proper specifications.
Meanwhile, Manjung Municipal Council Member, Councillor Teong Doung Woon, also reported a similar issue at Jalan Pasar Awam, Ayer Tawar.
In response, drain-cleaning efforts were undertaken to clear solid waste and debris, ensuring smooth water flow.
PEISB urged the public, particularly market vendors, to refrain from dumping waste into drains, as it leads to water stagnation.
Proper disposal in designated bins is essential to maintaining cleanliness and the well-being of the area.
