IPOH: Kelab Bakti Gunung Keledang (KBGK) is set to host the Malam Amal Nusantara charity dinner featuring renowned singer-songwriter Datuk (Dr) M. Nasir on May 3, 2025, at the Ipoh Convention Centre. The event aims to raise RM800,000 in funds.
KBGK chairman, Clr. Muhammad Hamzah Dato’ Haji Md Hamdan, said the dinner is organised to support various charitable initiatives under the Yayasan Bakti Gunung Keledang throughout the year.
“KBGK frequently receives aid requests from individuals, welfare organisations, orphanages, senior citizens, and those with autism and persons with disabilities (OKU). This annual charity dinner is an important effort to assist those in need.
“This year, we are honoured to feature legendary singer and composer, ‘Sifu’ Datuk (Dr) M. Nasir, with the theme Malam Nusantara,” he said during a press conference at the Ipoh City Council (MBI) building yesterday.
Also present at the press conference were Ipoh Mayor, Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin, and KBGK members.
To help achieve the fundraising goal, 140 sponsored tables, priced at RM10,000, RM5,000, and RM3,000, are available.
Proceeds will be channelled to 10 selected charitable organisations, with contributions to be presented by the Sultan of Perak, DYMM Paduka Seri Sultan Nazrin.
Meanwhile, charity dinner chairman Norali Nordin shared that M. Nasir will perform six to seven songs in a 45-minute set.
“This event also serves as a prelude to the 500th anniversary of the Perak Sultanate, which will be celebrated in 2028. Additionally, a surprise performance by another well-known local artist is in store for guests.
“To complement the Malam Nusantara theme, guests are encouraged to dress in traditional attire, such as baju Melayu or batik,” he added.
