IPOH: A total of 58 dogs and 19 cats were successfully neutered through the Perak Pawsitive Initiative, which continues this year.
The Perak State Executive Councillor for Housing and Local Government, Sandrea Ng Shy Ching, said that in addition to this, 250 applications and renewals for dog licenses were also received during the Dog Neutering Awareness Campaign.
She added that the campaign started at the Menglembu State Legislative Assembly (DUN) and received a positive response from the public.
“This campaign is subsidized by the state government and the Menglembu Assemblyman.
“This initiative is a proactive step in creating a more harmonious and sustainable environment, thus helping to reduce the stray animal population.
“The state government is committed to strengthening cooperation with all stakeholders to ensure this effort continues in the long term,” she said during the program’s official launch.
She also expressed her appreciation to the Menglembu Assemblyman’s Service Centre, Ipoh City Council, Mutts & Mittens, Menglembu Animal Clinic, pet owners, and all parties involved in making the campaign a success.
“Let us all support more responsible, ethical, and sustainable animal care,” she added.
