AKPK’S “Deria Raya” – A Shining Light Of Hope, A Symbol Of Strength And Togetherness

By Agensi Kaunseling dan Pengurusan Kredit (AKPK)

For every challenge, there will always be a ray of hope awaiting to enlighten our way. This is the pertinent message being conveyed in the new Raya video from Agensi Kaunseling dan Pengurusan Kredit (AKPK) entitled “Deria Raya”, a heartwarming narrative that upholds the values of strength and togetherness during this festive season.

“Deria Raya” is a story of an emotionally charged journey of Hashimah and her family who are facing a big challenge during Ramadan and their preparation for Syawal, after her eldest brother loses his eyesight due to an accident. Her once cheerful brother is now withdrawn and feels that Hari Raya has lost its meaning. Nevertheless, his family refuses to allow him to wallow in sorrow. With the depth of their love, strong family bond, and unwavering faith, they strive to create the spirit of hope and strength. Among the moments that conveys the message of strength in this video is when Hashimah provides continuous support to her brother after the life-changing accident, a striking reminder that failure does not determine one’s future.

“This video reflects our values and commitment here in AKPK, that no one should fight their battle alone when faced with life’s adversities without any help or support. Every individual has the right to receive the support needed to overcome difficulties and rise again. This is the true value of togetherness,” said Azaddin Ngah Tasir, AKPK’s Chief Executive Officer.

“Driven with the strong value of togetherness and continuous support as well as one’s own willpower to rise and change the situation, there shall be a new ray of hope to overcome the challenge together. Life’s journey is not only about what we see, but what we feel in our hearts, consistent with the approach and message conveyed in this video,” he added.

Financial challenges can happen to anyone, regardless of their background. Recently, the Director-General of Public Service, Tan Sri Wan Ahmad Dahlan Abdul Aziz, revealed concerns about loan syndicates which affected more than 4,000 civil workers. They were offered loans beyond their means, causing most of the victims to incur severe debt problems.

”However, nobody is perfect. At AKPK, we always strive to provide solutions and give a ray of new hope to those who are already at a dead end and in despair. Therefore, we urge people who are facing financial difficulties to immediately seek early assistance. Refer and consult the relevant financial institutions or reach out to us at AKPK to get holistically sound financial advice and debt management services for free. We believe that every individual deserves a second chance to rebuild their lives and attain peace of heart and mind,” he said.

In other words, AKPK impresses the importance of having correct financial knowledge and getting appropriate guidance to avoid being trapped in burdensome financial situations.

Established in 2006, more than 1.4 million individuals have benefitted from AKPK’s financial advisory services, and from that total, close to 550,000 borrowers have been assisted to regain control of their finances under the Debt Management Programme (DMP).

Fundamentally, we have our parts to play, regardless of what happens around us. To rise above adversity, individuals must seek support from family, friends, and the community, rather than lose hope. It is only with perseverance and togetherness that the ray of new hope will shine through. That is AKPK’s philosophy and principle of service.

AKPK invites the public to watch “Deria Raya” with family and friends. The full video can be watched at AKPK’s official social media platform @AKPKofficial. May the story of Hashimah’s family become a source of motivation to those facing hard times, lighting the way to wellness for the mind, peace for the soul, and success for the work done.
