TAPAH: The Cooperative Movement Program to support the Orang Asli community in Perak was held at the JAKOA Batang Padang & Muallim office here.
The program aims to empower the Orang Asli community through cooperatives and community development.
The event featured various activities, including traditional competitions such as blowpipe contests and a beauty pageant.
There was also a briefing session on cooperatives and cultural performances by the Orang Asli community.
The event was officiated by the Perak Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Saarani Mohamad, who also presented food aid baskets to the Orang Asli communities from four villages.
Menteri Besar also presented checks for the Cooperative Development Assistance Fund to the Orang Asli Lata Kinjang Berhad Cooperative and the Semai Women’s Orang Asli Cooperative of Tapah Berhad.
Also present was the Chairman of the Malaysian Cooperative Commission, Lieutenant General (R) Datuk Ahmad Norihan Jalal.
This program not only strengthens the relationship between the government and the Orang Asli community but also promotes economic development through cooperatives.
It also empowers the cultural and social values within the community.
