Sufficient fish supply during the festive season

BUKIT GANTANG: The fish supply during the upcoming Aidilfitri is guaranteed to be sufficient, so consumers need not worry about potential stock shortages.

This assurance was given by the Fisheries Development Authority of Malaysia (LKIM), which is collaborating with the Local Fishermen’s Association (PNK).

LKIM Chairman, Muhammad Faiz Fadzil, stated that over 10,000 tons of fish have been stored for the local market during the festive season.

He explained that LKIM and PKNK nationwide, along with support from private companies, ensure an adequate supply of fish.

“This is the same approach used during the Northeast Monsoon and the Chinese New Year celebrations, where we had enough supply.

“So, the public need not worry about any fish supply shortages during Aidilfitri,” he said.

He made these remarks during a press conference after officiating the Madani Ramadan Social Gathering event in Sungai Tinggi.

He also clarified that with sufficient fish supply, prices can be better controlled and stabilized.
